‘Outstanding Business Partner’ Award

The Rotary Club of Longboat Key was recognized as Tuttle Elementary School’s “Outstanding Business Partner.” at the Annual Volunteer & Partnership Recognition Celebration April 12.

The Rotary Club of Longboat Key was noted as a generous and valued Tuttle Elementary School business partner, facilitating the operation of the school food pantry and weekly backpack food program efficiently.  Several Rotary members volunteer in the Tuttle Volunteers Improving Proficiency (VIP) reading program, always willing to help meet the school’s needs.

Scott Dennis, ABC 7 News Anchor, served as Master of Ceremonies for the event that was attended by 440, including honorees from all over Sarasota County, school administrators and staff, and Sarasota County School Board leaders. Dennis described the services of school volunteers as “an invaluable resource;” and the estimated value of the services and materials that are provided by the 9,000 volunteers in the Sarasota County School District is $5.8 million dollars.
